Water damage questions

What areas does Dry Vegas serve?
Places whose center is within 4 miles of downtown Las Vegas. That covers ZIPs 89101, 89102, 89104, 89106, 89107, 89109, 89169 and 89030.
Is my address inside the 4 mile radius?
If you are in one of those ZIPs or a neighborhood on our areas page, yes. If you are close to the edge, call or text and ask.
What information should I have ready when I call?
Where the water came from, when it started, which rooms are wet, whether it is clean, dirty or sewage, and whether the power is safe.
Will you tell me what to do right now?
Yes. The first steps come before anything else, such as shutting the water, staying safe around power and taking photos.
What is Category 3 water?
Badly contaminated water such as sewage or storm runoff that crossed the ground. Soaked porous materials are usually removed.
Why do moisture readings matter?
They prove when a wall, floor or cabinet is dry. Each wet spot is checked against a dry standard taken from an untouched area.
Does Las Vegas weather make water damage worse?
Dry air helps surfaces dry, but monsoon storms in July and August can push runoff inside, and very hard water wears plumbing parts.
How hard is Las Vegas tap water?
LVVWD calls it very hard and lists 16 to 17 grains per gallon on its water quality facts page.
Can I stay in my home during drying?
Usually for clean water in a few rooms. Sewage, a sagging ceiling, lost power or health concerns are reasons to stay elsewhere.
Do you work with insurance companies?
Photos, readings and estimates can be shared with your adjuster. Negotiating your claim is a job for you, a licensed public adjuster or an attorney.
Is mold testing always needed?
No. EPA says if you can see mold, testing is usually not needed, and there are no federal limits for mold.
How do I check any water damage company?
Look up the contractor license with the Nevada State Contractors Board, ask for proof of insurance and ask how they prove a house is dry. Our How to check us page has the links.
